What does "in range" mean?
A plain answer, with the qualification attached.
A reference range is the interval within which most results from a reference population fall for a given test on a given analyser. It is not a definition of "normal" and not a definition of "healthy". A result inside the range means no action is indicated from that measurement alone; a result outside it means the measurement should be looked at by a clinician. On your Elixir Health result, every marker is shown against the range used for that specific test.
Why the range depends on the test
Ranges differ between analysers and between methods. A vitamin D result on one platform is not directly comparable to one on another, which is why we show the range that applies to the test you had — and why a retest on the same analyser is more useful than a comparison across two different ones.
"Low end of range" is not "low"
A result inside the range but toward one end is inside the range. It is not a shortfall, and we will never present it as one. It can be a reason to read something, or to retest in twelve weeks, and on your result those two options are shown separately from the measurement itself.
